Pediatrics

Janel Post joined Advocare Parsippany Pediatrics in 2007. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Rutgers University. Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Janel is licensed to practice under the rules and regulations of the State of New Jersey, and keeps current by attending continuing education seminars and reading medical journals. Prior to joining our practice, Janel worked as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) at St. Clare's Hospital and at a private family practice office, where she discovered her passion for working with children.

Nurse practitioners are registered nurses with advanced degrees, including a four-year baccalaureate program and a master's program, as well as a certificate from the state which licenses them to practice. As an FNP, Janel has completed a Nurse Practitioner program in which she received extensive pediatric clinical and educational training and experience. Nurse practitioners do virtually everything doctors do:  they can prescribe medications and vaccinations, treat illness and injury, and provide health maintenance exams. Nurse practitioners partner with doctors in providing care whenever needed.

Janel has also earned certification as a Lactation Consultant.  She provides this service two mornings per week, in her office at Advocare Parsippany Pediatrics, to help our breastfeeding patients thrive.

Janel is married with two young sons. She and her family are very active and enjoy all outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, and skiing.
